Answers to the most important questions

What physical requirements?

The demands for the passenger are minimal. You must be able to run a few steps, especially at take-off.

What type of clothing?

Good, ankle-high shoes (hiking boots are ideal), jeans, a warm windbreaker, scarf and gloves (based on the season). In winter, we also recommend thermal underwear.

What else do I need?

Camera, Swiss Rail Pass or Discount Card if available, cash for the flight (no credit cards accepted) or gift certificate

Do I need special insurance?

Paragliding is not considered an extreme sport. Therefore the statutory accident insurance for Swiss citizens suffices. If you don't have this insurance, please inquire with your insurance agent. Every pilot is also required by law to carry liability insurance for his or her passengers of 200,000 CHF. The pilot will have you sign the appropriate flight waiver with the liability conditions before the flight.

What about flight maneuvers?

If interested, your pilot will gladly offer you a a couple of "wingovers" or a spiral dive. The passenger might become nauseous during these maneuvers due to the steep acceleration. Therefore we recommend doing these maneuvers towards the end of the flight time.

Where and when will we meet?

Normally we meet at a pre-arranged time in Goldau or Weggis at the Rigi valley station. Based on your flight area, the pilot will give you the precise date and time. The links to most important mountain railways are as below.

We are several individuals. Can we fly together?

Of course! If needed, we can certainly organize more pilots for your group.

How can I buy a gift certificate?

The pilot will be glad to send the gift certificate to your home address. You can make your payment before the day of your flight with a payment voucher. Please note that the flight can only take off when your bank transfer has arrived in the pilot's account.

Where are the cable car stations located and how much do they charge?

Here are links to the most important mountain railways where you can meet the pilot by appointment at the valley station. On most homepages you will also find the latest rates.

Can I travel with public transport?

That's always possible. When it comes to flights from Rigi, it's easiest to drive up from Arth-Goldau. We'll meet you at the train station and walk with you to the Rigi valley station. Traveling via Weggis is a bit more effort, but still no problem. Your connection on the Swiss Rails should be easy to find in this little timetable. In Weggis, we meet at the post office.
